Role of a Journalist in Under Developed Areas

A person who is engaged in journalistic activity such as reporting, writing and editing is known as called journalist. Interior areas, rural areas are mostly known as underdeveloped areas. Most of the people are lived in villages. About 70% of people are depending on cultivation. About 95% of India’s geographical area is covered by villages. so we can say that “We can’t think of India without its village”.

While a journalist covered an under developed area the findings and the difficulties are simultaneously faced there by and by. While entering to a village the journalist first of all he has to hide his identity. Then he has to meet with the village people, the villagers moving heather and thither, and groupism of people where they are sitting together. Besides that the head of the village if any. With this phenomena he has to vision the area of the village and its vision the area of the village and its existences. With his knowledge to access what is the deficit of that area.

Then after he has to make an agenda on that issue which is deficiency in that area. Then and there he has to start of its investigation from the people from different locations through different angle. The deficiencies are found to be:-

☻Water scarcity.

☻Primary education facility.

☻Medical facility.

☻Electricity.

☻Transport and communication etc.

Then he has to consult why these things are undeveloped and he has to discuss about the matter from the head of that village as well as general people. Then after he has to discuss for its development and changes with the key person of that village. After discussion the had of the village will aware and inclination towards its conversation.

After that he has to organize a small meeting in the evening hours when they are free to listen. Conducting after two or three meetings, a small awareness will create in their mind. Then he has to motivate the villagers to participate with their rights.

Then he has to make a report and communicate the same to the media for their welfare. The same practice has to be done frequently for their well development. And report to the govt. for taking necessary action.
